Well, first off, this a little bit about me…
I’m a 36 year old guy from Manchester, England: I’m into various artistic hobbies, not least of which is Photography, Films & TV, Writing and Music.
I’ve been into Film & TV seriously since I was teenager and have progressed through the subject steadily for the past 18 years or so. I’m into the home cinema side, the history and tech stuff, the making of etc, and have been a budding author since I was 16.
I’ve not been published though I have submitted a few scripts etc, but I’ve focused more my life a career etc for the past few years and have focused much more on the hobby aspects rather than becoming a pro. But that’s not to say that I’ve given up!!!
I have a huge interest in music but have yet to master any instrument but am teaching myself the piano, slowly but surely!!!
As for my Photography; I finally realised my life long desire to take up this hobby in 2004, when I first picked up my first Digital compact camera, my Vivitar 3765 (3 mp). But… and there was a big but, I could keep my hand steady enough and kept on blowing most of the shots!!! It wasn’t really until summer of te following year, when I picked up my HP Ipaq rx3000 PDA with a 1.2 mp that it finally took off for me.
By the time I’d finished with that, I went back to the Vivitar and by Christmas 2005, I was upgrading to my Kodak Z740. This is was one hell of camera, but like many compacts, it has one major drawback; No manual focus!
As my skills grew the camera was reaching it’s limits more and more so eventually, and when money permitted, I upgraded to my Nikon D40 DLSR just after Christmas, last year. It’s with this camera that some my favourite work has been created, such as “Face In The Flame”, “Snail’s Pace”, “Universe On A Leaf”. I’ve since moved up to a Nikon D80 which produced, more recently “Nature Style”. (Below)
In November 2010, after several smaller deals had been struck for use of “Face In The Flame”, my all time most successful images with 125,000 hits at this time, Safari Sunday’s from New York, purchased a 2 year licence to use this image in their projects.
I have since begun to develop a service allowing te purchace of framed prints of my work as well licencing deals. For any enquiries feel free to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
I would also like to to recommend my good friend Ceeque’s Blog. Ceeque has been of enormous helpmand inspiration over the years and has certainly contributed to whatever knowledge I have on the subject!!! LOL!
