Framed Passport

The story begins when this lad, my eldest stepson, Wayne, decides to throw a ball down the stairs which resulted in the breaking of a picture frame. The up shot of this, pardon the pun, was that the remains of this frame became used as a photographic prop, one which helped to produce this image which I entitled “Passport Photo”.

Thanks Wayne! (And the rest of the kids who helped to make this happen! 😉

Child Of Oz

Child Of Oz
Child Of Oz, originally uploaded by nEoPOL.

This is one of my favourite images. Not just because this is a portrait of my youngest step son, but because it’s contains two my passions. Film and my family.

But this image reminds me of when I was six year old, who was often getting shouted at for playing my dad’s projector equipment. This seems to embody the fascination that children have with their parents toys.

Vapours

This is an image captured from last September’s Southport Air show. The world-famous, Red Arrows put in an astonishing performance, as they do every year, and this is a picture that I feel captures their moment of glory.

The next is yet another picture of fire, this time part of a larger blaze. I have obviously applied a colour filter which I feel adds to the effect.

Face In The Flame: 93,000 hits & Licenced

Ever since I took this image over two and half years ago, I knew that it was a good en, but that belief has finally paid off. There has always been some interest in this and all my fire images since I began the set back in 2008, and I had in fact, already sold this image once, though for a modest fee, to a company who wished to use this on there website and have allowed people to use this within their own personal projects.

But it wasn’t until last month that the image finally yielded it potential, and I was made a four figure offer for exclusive rights for the next 2 years.

“FACE IN THE FLAME” continues to build on its view count, which has now reached over 93,000 hits on Flickr and has also featured at Number 1 on Google’s image search for “flame” Again, thanks to everyone who has supported this image and all my work.

Posted on Flickr on the 96th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, (just in case anyone was interested…) back in April 2008, it has since stormed away to become my most successful picture ever. It was taken my Nikon D40, and the efix data is available on photo page @ Flickr. (Click on the image)

Resurgence

Yesterday I was suprised to find a huge amount of hits on two of my early images, both showcasing 60’s/70’s architecture. I’m still not sure why there is such an interest in these two pictures but I thank you anyway…

Both images were taken in the summer of 2005 with my IPAQ rx3000, hence the lower quality. (1.2 mp).

The University of Manchester’s “MATHS TOWER”, was taken a few months before it’s demolition in 2005. The “LANCASTER SERVICES 1” was taken a year before it was renovated, or certainly repainted in 2006.

Each image is accompanied by a picture from 2006, showing the evolution or destruction of each structure.

Let it snow… 2009/2010

Over the Christmas Holidays and well into the New Year, snow had covered the United Kingdom. Whilst is some parts snow is common fixture, those places are rare on this island. But, snow does fall here from time two time, but this has to count as one of the most severe and disruptive nationwide snowfalls in decades, certainly in my lifetime.

Well, here are just a few images of those days. The first picture is from the week between Christmas and New Year and the latter two are from January, the deepest snowfall that I can remember…
